September invitation letter from LSC Tyne & Wear

Call for Co-Financing Tenders in Tyne & Wear
I am writing to inform you of a forthcoming Learning and Skills Council (LSC)
procurement round in relation to ESF Objective 3 Co-Financing. This round will
form part of a co-ordinated approach to Co-Financing across the North East
Region which will include both Jobcentre Plus and the European Secretariat at
the Government Office for the North East.
In Tyne and Wear, the LSC received approval for its revised Co-Financing Plan
at the Regional Objective 3 Meeting held on 3rd June 2003. This revised plan
was prepared to take account of a new allocation of funding to support project
activity from 1st January 2004 until the 31st December 2006. As part of this
second phase of Co-Financing the LSC will be inviting tenders to allocate ESF
Objective 3 funding in support of the following themes:
- Promoting Social Inclusion and Equal Opportunities
- Basic Skills provision
The full Co-Financing Application Pack detailing the tender specifications and
criteria and LSC Co-Financing processes will be available from Monday 1st
September 2003 on the websites listed below:

joint briefing events in Tyne and Wear with Jobcentre Plus and ESFVON. These
will be in early September and further details will be available soon on
partner websites and by contacting the LSC External Resources team.
The deadline for submission of applications under this call will be midday on
Friday 3rd October 2003.
