Northumberland LSC Co-Financing
Round 3 Specifications

Northumberland LSC has given notice of the next Objective 3 tendering round. Note: the deadline for receipt of applications is still to be confirmed.

There are numerous specifications, for which reason the following is necessarily only a short outline of required activities for each. If any specification is of interest to a prospective bidder it is essential the full specification is consulted either directly from Northumberland LSC's website or via ESFVON's link to the same. (see end of Bulletin for details)

1.2 .# (Policy Field.Measure.Numeration). Improve the employability of the unemployed, returners and young people of working age.

(Please note that although the total resource and beneficiary targets are indicated for each specification in any policy filed/measure, this does not imply that only one project will be funded)

1.2.1 total resource:£150,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 100

Unemployed adults. Employment linked to vocational training (eg, job tasters, work placement); to include literacy/numeracy support. Specific sectors and relevant outcomes to be identified.

1.2.2 total resource:£260,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 140

as 1.2.1 but not sector specific

2.1 Access to basic skills (pre vocational)

2.1.1 total resource: £75,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 80

Improving basic skills of jobless thereby encouraging further training of employment. Innovative ways of targeting non-traditional learners

2.1.2 total resource: £25,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 15

jobless to become basic skills tutors, & voluntary tutors to update skills

2.1.3 total resource: £50,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 20

Voluntary and non-traditional providers to supply innovative projects to attract non-learners. To include basic skills and capacity building.

2.2 Improve employability and remove barriers to LM for those groups disadvantaged in the LM (e.g. lone parents, returners, disabled people, ethnic minorities, ex-offenders)

2.2.1. total resource: £50,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 50

Vocational training for disadvantaged groups, particularly in hospitality, tourism or retail

2.2.2. total resource: £50,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 40

Vocational training for disadvantaged groups, particularly in health and social care, childcare

2.2.3 total resource: £50,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 15

Innovative accredited courses for unemployed active in the voluntary and community sector. Target skill development and LM entry.

3.1 Promoting wider access and participation in lifelong learning

3.1.1 total resource: £75,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 23

Qualifications for basic skills/E2E tutors, level 1 and 2 trainers

3.1.2 total resource: £125,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 100

With focus on basic skill skills encourage individuals into learning. Innovative, community access, e-learning solutions, IAG

3.1.3 total resource: £12,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 50

Innovative access to post16/higher education for non-traditional learners

3.1.4 total resource: £225,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 120

Work based learning programmes for adults. To include IAG, literacy/numeracy support, and as appropriate learn direct and e-learning.

4.1 Update/upgrade employees' vocational skills (includes basic and key skills)

1 - 4 generally not applicable to Voluntary/ community sector - see LSC - Northumberland website

4.1.5 total resource: £50,000/total number of companies targeted: 25

Raise care/childcare qualifications to level 3. IAG to employers/employees. Partnership

5.1 Improve access and remove barriers in training and employment for women

5.1.1 total resource: £50,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 100

County wide conferences/events to promote professional skills and vocational training for women in non-traditional areas. To include target post event IAG

5.1.2 total resource: £100,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 40

women directly into non traditional work; include IAG, non traditional access, flexible training.

5.1.3 total resource: £40,000/total number of beneficiaries targeted: 20

Projects consistent with the aim of 5.1 where improved access, flexible training delivery, personal development, basic skills, IAG
