EUROPEAN FUNDING 2007 -2013
A Briefing for Voluntary and Community Organisations
Whilst new European Programmes were due to commence on 1 January 2007, as in past
programmes, delays have again been encountered – but what does the future hold?
For the hundreds of voluntary and community projects that have been successful
in accessing European Funding since 2000, and the many other organisations looking
to Europe in the future, what are the opportunities and how can you start planning?
The North East of England will receive only about half of the amount of European
Social Fund (ESF) and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) monies as it has
received during the current programmes. It is also anticipated that all funding
will also be co-financed through a tender driven approach. Providers under the
Objective 3 Programme will be aware of the impact of such an approach.
So what are the challenges and opportunities, and how can our organisation prepare?
ESFVON, are holding four sub regional events, to which we encourage you to attend,
to learn of the latest position with regard to European funding coming to the region
in 2007 – 2013. We will also cover how organisations may be able to access the new
funding, together with developing partnerships in Europe and the support which ESFVON
is planning to help you in developing and sustaining the progress the sector has
contributed to date.
To reserve your free* place(s) on these events, please complete and return the
enclosed registration form as soon as possible, as places are limited due to
envisaged demand. Preference will be given to voluntary and community organisations.
* Free places are limited, and are only available to voluntary and community
organisations, but it will be necessary for ESFVON to charge £15 for bookings
for non attendance (unless at least seven days notice of non-attendance is given)
and for reservations after the current allocations are full. Public Authorities
are also cordially invited to attend subject to a £35.00 per head fee on acceptance
of their registration.
We look forward to seeing you.
