The next Bidding Round for the Objective 3 Programme in the North East of England will be launched on 1 September 2003 with a closing date of 3 October 2003.

The Programme, worth £80 million in new projects, will be administered primarily by the Co-financing Organisations comprising the four Learning & Skills Councils and Jobcentre Plus. There will also be a limited Direct Bidding Round to Government Office for the North East.

The precise categories of bids to be invited are still under discussion, but initial advice and guidance to potential applicants can be obtained from ESFVON.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING A DIRECT BID, WHICH WILL REQUIRE YOU TO PROVIDE 55% MATCH FUNDING, THEN YOU SHOULD CONTACT ESFVON AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR FURTHER GUIDANCE AND TO REGISTER YOUR INTEREST. THIS WILL ENSURE THAT YOU ARE SENT AN APPLICATION PACK AT THE EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY.

ESFVON WORKSHOPS
CO-FINANCING OR DIRECT BIDDING?

ESFVON is holding a number of events to help you with the way forward.

Does your project come under the LSC, Jobcentre Plus or Direct Bidding?

Some organisations currently have a number of options to consider, including both Co-financing and Direct Bidding.

Confused????

Co-financing will be different to what many organisations have experienced in the past in that each CFO will publish a prospectus setting out activities for which they are seeking bids. Not all actions under all Measures will be covered by CFOs.

Our events will review the prospectus for each CFO (JCP and the four sub-regional LSCs) with the specific purpose of helping voluntary organisations determine which bidding options are available to them, including those which remain for Direct Bidding, and which are most appropriate. To book a place on these half day events from 10 a.m. - 12.30 p.m., please return the enclosed form as soon as possible, indicating the event you wish to attend.
