ESF OBJECTIVE 3
Call for Applications 2001

A further application round under ESF Objective 3 is to commence shortly:

APPLICATION PERIOD
The application round will commence on:

MONDAY 15 JANUARY 2001

with a closing date for applications of :

FRIDAY 23 FEBRUARY 2001

PRIORITIES and MEASURES
Applications can be submitted under all Policy Fields and Measures, but applications under Measures 2.1 and 5.1 are not being encouraged as there are currently no resources available. For further details of eligible actions, please contact ESFVON.

(A small amount of resources are earmarked for projects contributing to the development of Objective 2 funded strategic sites. Such potential projects should in the first instance be discussed with ESFVON as there are specific qualifying criteria for these funds.)

APPLICATION PACKS
As with the last application round, organisations will be expected to download the Application Guidance and Disk from the DfEE website at:

http://www.esfnews.org.uk

Only a limited number of application packs will be available from ESFVON, for those organisations without access to the internet, or in cases of difficulty.

Some revisions are being made to the guidance and disk, and we shall be informing applicants of these amendments in due course. A draft revised version is currently posted on the above web-site.

PERIOD OF FUNDING
Applications for projects under the first round which were unsuccessful may apply for funding from 1 July 2000. New project applications can have a start date from 1 January 2001. Applications must have an end date no later than 31 December 2001.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
If you are proposing to apply for funding under this round, then to ensure that you receive all notifications and information for, and during, the application process we would request that you return the enclosed "Expression of Interest" form as soon as possible.

SEMINARS
ESFVON will be running a number of seminars to support organisations in their submission of applications. These events will be essential occasions for both new and existing applicants and will include "lessons learnt" form previous scoring and appraisal of applications.

Seminars will commence with registration at 9.30 a.m. and finish at 4.00 p.m., the fee is inclusive of handouts, coffee/tea, and buffet lunch. Directions to the appropriate venue will be sent to all registrants.

A copy of the enclosed registration form should be completed for each person attending, and E-Mail to info@esfvon.org.uk by return. Payments should be remitted as soon as possible.

TO MAXIMISE THE VALUE OF THESE OCCASIONS, THE NUMBER OF PLACES WILL BE LIMITED AT EACH SEMINAR AND WILL BE ALLOCATED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS. IN THE EVENT THAT THE VENUE OF YOUR CHOICE IS FULLY BOOKED, AN ALTERNATIVE VENUE WILL BE OFFERED.
