ESF 2007 - 2013
The Government has to-day launched consultation on how the European Social Fund
will be invested in jobs and skills over the next seven years.
The consultation seeks views on the draft ESF Operational Programme for England
in 2007 - 2013. There will be two priorities: extending employment opportunities:
and developing a skilled and adaptable workforce.
In particular, the Government wants to focus the new Programme on disadvantaged people
who face barriers to work, and on people who lack basic skills and qualifications.
The consultation will end on 22 January 2007.
In respect of the North East of England, ESFVON will be producting a briefing note
and undertaking detailed information and consultation events for voluntary and
community organisaions.
